Shiver me
timbers and spit on me grave,
I lived me whole life, but I couldn't behave,
I drank meself dizzy and chased all the gals,
I wanted to love 'em, not have 'em for pals.
I walked
through the alleys a'beggin' for booze,
An' then in the daytime would have me a snooze,
Me life was a circus, and I was a clown,
I thought I was up, even though I was
down.
Me days
were just minutes with nothing to do,
And then in the even' I knew I was through,
With chasin' the women and fightin' the men,
But then in the mornin' I'd do it again.
But now I
am ancient, just waitin' to die,
I have some ambitions, but don't even try,
For no one is lookin' or waitin' for me,
I'll be who I am and I'll be who I be.
And when
I am gone, I will go up above,
I'll fly like an eagle, not float like a dove,
I'll march into Heaven, the place I should be,
And all of the Saints, well they better all
flee.
For, I'm
takin' over the streets made of gold,
I'm young and I'm healthy; I'm no longer old,
So shiver me timbers and spit on me grave,
No longer a bum; they will know me as
Dave!
