Weekend Dreamer

I’m a dreamer, a poet,
I live in my mind,
I make up these verses,
To help me unwind.

Today was a killer,
With so much to do,
I work for the Man,
It was really a zoo.

Accounts were unfinished,
With calls still to make,
Just taking this job
Was a real big mistake.

But I needed the money,
Bills need to be paid,
Yet it takes up my time,
And it eats up my day.

Oh, the weekend is coming,
I’ll be on my own,
I’ll read a good book,
I won’t answer the phone.

I’ll be poet and dreamer,
I’ll live in my mind,
I’ll live for the moment,
And try to unwind.
