Poems of War and Peace

War

War is such a common thing,
It happens every day,
It seems so easy to ignore,
It happens far away.

But how can we continue on,
When people die somewhere?
It's almost like they don't exist,
Like we don't really care.

We all deserve to live in peace,
It's not too much to ask,
Instead so many live in fear,
Just waiting for the blast.

It's time for us to stop the fight,
And put down all our arms,
Our neighbour is our brother,
Let's protect him from all harm.

It really sounds so simple,
And we wish that it could be,
If we respect each other,
Then the world would soon be free.
