The Pest

She's such a big pest and drives me so crazy,
My head's in a fog and a little bit hazy,
I try hard to put her right out of my mind,
But that seems so cruel and very unkind.

She entered my life in the year Sixty Eight,
And at our first meeting she wanted to date,
I thought it no harm, as I offered a smile,
I gave her an inch, but she wanted a mile.

The date wasn't bad, but she wanted another,
I started to panic and ran to my mother,
She said, "Son, please listen, you're out on your own,
Go back to the girl and leave me alone."

In great desperation, I fled to my Dad,
I started to whimper, which made him so mad,
"You've got to grow up, Son, and be a brave man,
Accept what has happened and smile if you can."

I worked up my courage; I knew what was best,
I booked me a chapel and married the pest,
And now we are blessed with two pests of our own,
Who call me their Dad and won't leave me alone.
