Poems of Reflection

The Little Boy In Me

I speak my mind, but no one hears,
My deep confusion or my fears,
But there is one who sees my tears,
The little boy in me.

When I was young, I had a friend,
He wasn't real; was just pretend,
But he was one who would defend,
The little boy in me.

And then when I went off to school,
I tried to act like I was cool,
But I could never really fool,
The little boy in me.

Now here I am, just growing old,
And though I've seen my life unfold,
There's one who helps me keep a hold,
The little boy in me.
