The Comforter
I may not know the pain you're going through,
But wish that I could take you by the arm,
And hold you up, in this your time of grief,
And shield you from all trouble and alarm.
But though I cannot ease your suffering,
There's One above who gave the best He had,
To comfort you in troubles that abound,
And lift you up when you are feeling sad.
He said to lay your burdens at His feet,
He bore your every care upon the cross,
To take away your pain and agony,
To comfort you in sorrow and in loss.
So if you give your life to Him today,
He'll walk with you along life's narrow way.
