Shane's Birthday Present - July 30, 2001

Well, here you are twenty-seven years old!
I wanted to buy you a nugget of gold.
I went to the bank to take out some cash,
And noticed that I had a very low stash.
I panicked and thought, "Now, what will I do?"
I had wanted to buy something special for you!

Then someone suggeted we go on a trip.
I thought to myself, "That's a very good tip!"
We'll hop on a plane and go to Japan,
Or maybe we could go to Disneyland!
No, wait! that's been done. ( California, I mean),
That's something that you have already seen.

My ideas run short; 'maginations run thin,
Started asking myself, "What should I get him?"
Then the thought struck, since Shane's such a dear,
Perhaps I will get him a case of beer!
We'll hang out all night and play video games,
And when I beat you I won't call you names!!

So that is my gift, now how does that sound?
We'll rent video games and go for a round.
Happy Birthday to you; I hope your day's great!
(And this time, for once, my gift isn't late!!)
