Reflection In The Mirror

My face is full of laughter,
But I’m holding back a tear,
I see the person that I am,
While looking in the mirror.

My reflection shows the outside,
Only I see deep within.
I see the man I really am,
Complete with all my sin.

To fool those all around me,
Is a simple thing to do,
But I can’t fool the Lord above,
He knows me through and through.

He loves me even as I am,
And that is why He came,
To take my sin upon Himself,
Accepting all the blame.

So now I look beyond the mirror,
And know that I have won,
For God in Heaven looks at me,
Through the blood of His own Son.
