Our Lives Are An Open Book

I live every day with a book in my hand,
A book of blank pages is at my command,
And just how I fill them is all up to me,
The way that I live is what others will see.

I write on these pages with each breath I take,
Each chapter is written by choices I make,
And people will read me on some future day,
I'll help them to live right or cause them to stray.

From paths of the righteous to sinners back doors,
My life will speak volumes through deeds and much more,
And all those who read are no different from me,
For the lives that they live is what others will see.

Let's take up the challenge and try to do good,
As we respect others and do what we should,
So when life is over, our race has been run,
All those who will read us will know we have won.
