One Of The Lucky Ones

I guess I’m one of the lucky ones,
growing up in a family of love,
made to attend church on a regular basis,
not liking it all the time,
but now knowing that this helped
to mold my future, and I am grateful.

Married to a girl who is like an angel,
and I don’t know what I’d do without her.
It’s been thirty-three years now,
and I’m still in love.

Raised two kids who never gave me much trouble,
now responsible adults with lives of their own,
but they’re still my kids,
and like a father I always worry.
Are they eating okay?
Are they happy?
you know, all that ‘father stuff’.

Life is good;
I am blessed.
