O, God, I Needed You
To the tune of "You Needed Me" by Anne Murray

Verse

I bowed my knee to seek your face,
You showed me love; amazing grace,
I raised my hands in humble gratitude,
And praised your name with quiet attitude,
O, God, I needed You.

1st Chorus

What can I do to earn your love again,
For all I do falls short of God again,
Although my life is filled with shame and dross,
You said you'd raise me up to live eternally,
I needed you,
I needed you.

Bridge

Oh, I must believe in you, I must believe it's true,
I called to you and you were there,
And you said you'd never leave me; I believe it's true,
I have found a loving God who really cares.

Verse

You gave your life upon the tree,
To save my soul and set me free,
Prepared a place, to take me home one day,
Forever in your presence I will stay,
You even called me friend.

2nd Chorus

Now I will wait until you come again,
To take me home, eternal life to gain,
I'll walk on streets, all made of purest gold,
And I will live forever, never to get old.
I needed You,
I needed You.

Ending

I needed you.
I needed you.
