Poems of Reflection

My Words

Why do I write,
And why do I care
If you read my words,
As I lay my soul bare?

I don't owe a thing,
And I've nothing to prove.
I write for myself,
I've no mountains to move.

Don't want to be cruel,
Nor mean to be rude,
I write from my heart
When I'm in the mood.

Please be understanding,
That's just how I am,
I write what I feel,
And do what I can.

If you want to visit,
That's okay with me.
Don't judge what I say,
I just want to be free.
