My Choices May Be Different

My choices may be different than the way you'd want to be,
And things that I believe may not be what you think you see,
And maybe, yes, just maybe what I see is what will be,
At least it's what I vision, and the life that is for me.

My choices may be different than the way you'd want for me,
The things that I do cherish may seem strange and not for thee,
The ways I think, the things I do, may make you disagree,
But it's those things that shape my life and leave me feeling free.

Your choices may be different than the way I'd want for you,
But I'm not one to criticize and tell you what to do,
So live your life and do your best; your conscience be your guide,
Just listen to the things it says and of its will abide.

My choices may be different and your choices may be too,
But it's the choices that we make, that always see us through,
And it's those choices that we make, that shape just who we are,
So make those choices from your heart and they will take you far.
