My darling
daughter…….it is hard to let you
go.
I still
see a little girl playing alone in the backyard on a
warm summer day.
At the time, you have no idea that Mom and I are
watching you.
Music is playing on your tape player and in your hand
is a long ribbon
on a coloured stick, that Mom and I gave to you the
day before.
As the music plays, you dance and twirl the ribbon
about your head,
completely unaware of anything else except the
music.
Life is simple and fun, and it seems like you will be
a child forever.
But time has moved on and the music has changed, but
the dance continues.
You are married now and a whole new dance is set to
begin.
Oh, how I
miss my little girl!
