He sat in
judgment, blank as stone,
As sentencing was read,
Not caring for the many souls,
The ones he left for dead.
He looked
at everyone around,
And thought, "You're all to blame",
And sat there just as cold as ice,
And never felt the shame.
Yet he
made choices long ago,
Which left him in this mess,
A violent temper, lust and greed,
And living in excess.
His
parents tried to lead him right,
But he kept pulling left,
They said he had to earn his way,
But what he chose was theft.
He wanted
what the wealthy had,
He thought it was his due,
Now many people would be dead,
Before this day was through.
Though he
had plenty, they had more,
"So it must be their fault,
And they're the ones who are to blame,
Who caused me to assault."
So now he
blames Society,
For how it all turned out,
Because in greed, he wanted more,
Now, what is that about?
For the world offers only a craving
for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we
see, and pride in our achievements and possessions."
