Everything I Sow

Standing on divided roads and looking past the sun,
Knowing what has brought me here and knowing what I've done,
Wondering where I go from here; now, how do I proceed?
What is it I have to do in order to succeed?

Everything I've done before has left me in a mess,
Though I didn't try too hard, of that I must confess,
Oft' bewildered by the task of something I can't do,
Never try, and wonder why I never make it through.

Need to give it all I have and see what lies ahead,
Hoping all works out for me, although I've made my bed,
Barely even getting by, I haven't got the will,
Everything I've done before has left me unfulfilled.

Need to get back on my feet and do the things I must,
Work with what life's given me, as in my God I trust,
Now I lay me down to sleep and pray my soul to keep,
Everything I sow in life is everything I reap.
