Everyday Intrusions

Everyday intrusions always in the way,
Have to go to work today, though I want to play,
Have a game of 'nine hole' and a pint of beer,
Do some fishing in the stream; have another beer.

Do a little camping, chop a little wood,
Put a hotdog on the fire, living as I should,
Working in the office taking many calls,
People flying here and there, Paris and Nepal.

Booking their vacations so they can have some fun,
While I stay inside this place beating on this drum,
But the time is coming I can leave this scene,
But 'til that day I am here drinking strong caffeine.
