Ethical Thinking

Ethical thinking to some is so dumb,
Taking advantage is what they've become,
Looking for loopholes in everyday rules,
Thinking they're wise, but they're playing the fool.

Having no morals and having no shame,
Thinking they're winning and we are to blame,
Caring for others is not what they do,
Judgment from Heaven is what they accrue.

"Do Unto Others" is gone with the past,
Treasure on earth is a thing that won't last,
Building a mansion on soft moving sand,
May look quite pretty, but it will not stand.

Doing what is right is a thing for the few,
Many would do it if only they knew,
God up in Heaven is watching the scene,
Shedding a tear over things so obscene.

Bread cast on water will come home to rest,
Blessing each other will help us be blessed,
What goes around will come 'round once again,
Ethical thinking is simple and plain.

How are we treated and how do we treat?
Look in the eye, every person we meet,
Upright and honest is how we should be,
There we'll find freedom, I think you'll agree.
