Poems of Reflection

During The Time That I Write

During the times that I write,
I can be anyone,
I can march to my tune,
I can beat my own drum,
I can go anywhere,
I can live on a star,
I can do anything,
I can play the guitar.

During the times that I write,
I can say how I feel,
To complain if I like,
Tell my side, make it real,
I can be my own boss,
I can do as I please,
Can be brutally frank,
And at times I can tease.

During the times that I write,
I can feel like a king,
I can open my heart,
Take a rhyme, make it sing,
Be the master, the slave,
Be the joker, the fool,
The magician, the lover,
I can make my own rules....during the times that I write.
