Human Drama Poems

She said that she was twenty-one,
and I believed her lie.

Dumb And Blind

I once sat on a jury for a person
who was charged with 'Statutory Rape'.
He was found guilty, but more than likely,
he was just guilty of stupidity.

Okay people, listen up,
And I will tell a tale,
I'll tell you of a stupid thing,
That landed me in jail.

It happened twenty years ago,
When I was young and dumb,
I went into a sleazy bar,
And filled myself with rum.

I thought I was a ladies' man,
And I could play the scene,
I hooked up with a sexy chick,
But she was just a teen.

She said that she was twenty-one,
And I believed her lie,
Her father heard what I had done,
And told me I would die.

For she was under seventeen,
And I was just a fool,
I'd 'dated' one who was too young,
And busted every rule.

So now I sit behind these bars,
(And not the drinking kind),
Not only was I really dumb,
But I was also blind.
