Miscellaneous Poems

But they say we have a purpose,
and I know I must have mine.

Building Stuff

In technology I'm crippled,
Not mechanically inclined,
I am useless with a hammer,
I am all of these, combined.

With my hands I am so useless,
Building stuff is not my thing,
I could never fix an engine,
Now, what talents do I bring?

I have never been an artist,
And I know I cannot sing,
I'm a pretty lousy actor,
In the entertainment ring.

I have always 'pushed a pencil',
Always sat behind a desk,
Many years I worked in "Travel",
It's enough to get depressed.

But they say we have a purpose,
And I know I must have mine,
Since retired, I work a little,
Often, though, I just recline.

Maybe one day I will find it,
That one thing that I can do,
Something I will find exciting,
Something special to pursue.

But 'till then I'll keep on looking,
For I know it must be there,
And I know that I will find it,
But right now, I'm unaware.
