Blessings

Often when I see the sunset resting in the west,
And think about the day that now is gone,
I reminisce about the past and know that I've been blessed,
With gratitude I wait to see the dawn.

Often when I hold my kids, I thank the Lord above,
That love and joy has found its way within,
For when I look around about at how some other's live,
I understand the way it could have been.

Often there is discontentment and a lack of love,
And pain and sorrow have the upper hand,
Instead of putting family first, it's all about careers,
Instead of rock, they build upon the sand.

Seldom do I envy those who live with wealth and fame,
To have those things, they often paid a price,
So I am just content to live with riches from above,
And thank the Lord for blessings in my life.
