Humourous Poems

I walk on pins and needles,
And I'm nervous all the time.

Between The Lines

I gave my wife a compliment,
She read between the lines,
“Does this dress make me fat?” she asked,
I said, “You look just fine”.

“’Just fine’ is all you have to say?
I think I look quite slim”,
And then I put my foot in it,
By saying, “I meant, TRIM !!”.

She always reads between the lines,
And I can never win,
Each time I give a compliment,
You’d think it was a sin.

“You're looking really nice today”.
“I wasn’t yesterday?”
And after she has said her piece,
There’s nothing more to say.

I walk on pins and needles,
And I’m nervous all the time,
But one thing I won't do again,
Is tell her, "You look fine”.
