A Rainbow In The Making

It's a rainbow in the making with its mist so cold and wet,
Like so many days of trouble when I worry and I fret,
All I see is pain and sorrow, like a cold and rainy day,
It's a rainbow in the making; all I need to do is pray.

It's a rainbow in the making, little child of Bethlehem,
Who was born inside a stable, then became the Son of man,
Healed the sick and cleansed the lepers, then was hanged upon a tree,
It's a rainbow in the making for the likes of you and me.

It's a rainbow in the making, Heaven's light is shining through,
Like a coat of many colours that is there for me and you,
And the love of God the Father is reflected in the beam,
It's a rainbow in the making from the throne of God Supreme.

It's a rainbow in the making, at its end a pot of gold,
It's a promise from the Father when our world is dark and cold,
No more floods of fear, temptation, or of lives out of control,
It's a rainbow in the making; through His grace we are made whole.
